She is a beautiful human being. The kind that makes you want to be a better person.
She’s the mother of three, an inspiring teacher, the daughter of a lobster fisherman, a sister to a number of brothers and sisters, she’s an athlete, she’s a loyal friend, she’s an outstanding volunteer. The first years I spent in Brockville, I jokingly said that she was practically on the cover of every local newspapers. She’s awesome. She looks after everyone and puts others first.

Well, wouldn’t you know it, last Saturday, she was the queen of the day. She came in for her hair and makeup makeover. She was offered treats and drinks and got ready for her elegant glamour portrait photography session. She worked the camera and slowly gained confidence as a model. By the end, she was a real pro. Hollywood stars have nothing on this woman. (Doesn’t she look like Julia Roberts?) This is how she started her memorable day. She left to spend the rest of her day with friends, family and her loved one. She left ready to take on the world. She felt empowered.

“Love at long last.“ and “There is no time like the present.“ You most probably have heard those sayings before.

I met K & S through a good friend. They had plans for an intimate Fall wedding at the stately Hovey Manor in North Hatley.
They confessed they felt a little shy about planning a wedding “at their age”. She asked if she was the oldest bride I’d ever photographed. It turns out she was one of the most elegant. I’ll let you be the judge.

And the geese flew by…

L’automne est notre saison la plus occupée de l’année. Les mariages et plusieurs événements ont lieu en été, c’est après la rentrée que débute le gros de la post-production et de la livraison d’images dans l’atelier. Cet automne, encore une fois, nous avons eu la chance de revoir des familles que nous avons la chance de photographier année après année.
Voici une famille dont la tradition veut que je les revois à chaque année. Cette année, malgré le froid piquant, le petit dernier avait de l’énergie à revendre en novembre dernier. Comme un tireur d’élite et bien concentrée, j’ai capté la plupart de ces images à la volée. Voici ce que notre course photographique à l’extérieur du collège Marianopolis de Westmount a donné.
L’an prochain, j’aimerais bien que ça soit votre famille qui soit dans ma mire.

 
Mon opinion est sûrement biaisée, mais à mon humble avis, ce ne sont que les images qui perdurent et qui gagnent en valeur au fil du temps.
Elles deviennent des souvenirs d’instants, heureux, comiques, magiques et tendres. C’est pourquoi je continue à dire que ces images sont des investissements.

Cet été, pendant notre croisade à photographier des mariages, (Sud-Est Ontarien, les Laurentides, Montréal et les Cantons-de-L’Est), nous avons eu la chance de photographier des familles. Toutefois, c’est à Lachine que l’on a photographié cette session de maternité à domicile. À la maison et dans la cours arrière, j’ai tenté de représenter en toute simplicité ce bedon tout rond servant de maison pour ce petit garçon dont la naissance est prévue pour la fin du mois.

Leur chien, aussi vieux que leur relation, aura bientôt un compagnon de jeu et les parents, je le souhaite, pourront regarder ces 2 lurons s’amuser.
